The South Slocan Shawl or Shawlette

Several years ago a very dear and close friend spun a very lovely rich brown llama fleece and gave it to me. The South Slocan Scarf, a triangle scarf or shawlette, is the result of this gift. I live in an area of British Columbia known as the West Kootenays. My humble tribute to the area I call home is to name some of my designs after local villages. Since my friend's address is South Slocan who can resist the alliteration, eh? The scarf/shawlette is designed to use DK weight yarns. It begins with casting on three stitches that create the bottom point and ends when long enough or you run out of yarn. 400 metres are recommended.

This pattern was first published in 2002, and is also in the 2006 in Knitting Calendar Pattern-a-Day.
